FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 8, 2015

TO:
Honorable Larry Taylor, Chair, Senate Committee on Education

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1003 by Bettencourt (Relating to eliminating the commissioner of education's authority to approve a school district's issuance of a teaching permit.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Education Code to allow school districts to issue school district teaching permits without authorization from the Commissioner of Education.

Local Government Impact

There may be some savings in administrative costs to school districts by not submitting school district teaching permits to the commissioner.  These savings are not anticipated to be significant.
