No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would implement recommendations in the review, "Improve Transparency, Coordination, and Oversight of State Border Security Activities" in the Legislative Budget Board's Government Effectiveness and Efficiency Report submitted to the Eighty-fourth Texas Legislature, 2015.

The bill would amend the Government Code to reconstitute the Border Security Council as a special advisory council to the Homeland Security Council and amend current reporting requirements. The Office of the Governor, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department report there would not be a significant fiscal impact to implement the provisions of the bill.
