April 13, 2015

TO:
Honorable Troy Fraser, Chair, Senate Committee on Natural Resources & Economic Development

IN RE:
SB1122 by Estes (Relating to a limitation on the authority to curtail groundwater production from wells used for power generation or mining.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Water Code relating to a limitation on the authority to curtail groundwater production from wells used for power generation or mining. The bill would provide that districts not curtail production in amounts less than certain maximum rates, as defined. The Railroad Commission anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
