No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to require state agencies to purchase automated information systems using competitive bidding if the purchase amount is more than $25,000. The bill would direct the Department of Information Resources to monitor and verify certain purchase transaction reports submitted by vendors. It is estimated that the provisions of the bill could be implemented within existing resources at state agencies.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
