FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 23, 2015

TO:
Honorable Larry Taylor, Chair, Senate Committee on Education

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1170 by Garcia (relating to excluding certain students from the computation of dropout and completion rates for purposes of public school accountability.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Commissioner of Education to exclude certain students from the computation of dropout and completion rates for purposes of public school accountability.

The Texas Education Agency estimates there would be a minimal cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
