LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 24, 2015

TO:
Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1341 by Taylor, Van (Relating to the transfer of certain court records.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to enable clerks of county courts to transfer cases to district courts electronically, and vice versa. The Office of Court Administration indicates the technology to perform the function electronically exists in most counties today. Since paper transfers are also allowed, no significant fiscal implication to the state court system is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
