The bill would amend the Local Government Code to require certain procedures for adopting or amending a national model code, code to include the preparation of a cost-benefit analysis and two public hearing on the proposed adoption of or amendment to a national model code. The bill would require the procedures to be completed before any building code amendment could be adopted.
The bill would repeal Section 214.217(b), Local Government Code.
