IN RE:
SB1723 by Creighton (Relating to the purchase of certain insurance by public school districts.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would permit the board of trustees of a school district that elected to obtain insurance against bodily injuries sustained by students while training, engaged in interschool athletic completion, or engaged in school-sponsored activities, to expand insurance coverage beyond school campuses.
Local Government Impact
School districts could voluntarily incur additional costs to expand bodily injury insurance beyond school campuses. These costs would vary depending on vendor and number of students to be covered.
