SB1824 by Campbell (Relating to a study and report on the awarding of the Texas Legislative Medal of Honor.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the standing committees of both houses of the legislature with primary jurisdiction over military and veterans affairs to conduct a joint study on the nomination and selection process for the award of the Texas Legislative Medal of Honor.  The bill would establish guidelines for the study and would require the committees to report the findings of the study to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and the Legislature no later than December 1, 2016.
 
Implementing the provisions of the bill is not expected to result in a significant fiscal impact to either the Senate or the House of Representatives.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
