SB1888 by Zaffirini (Relating to a requirement that a county report the number of certain persons with mental illness detained in that county’s jail.), Committee Report 2nd House, As Amended

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to require a county to report and submit monthly certain information relating to persons with mental illness detained in a county jail to the Commission on Jail Standards. The bill would specify the reported information is not public information and is not subject to disclosure under Chapter 552.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
