No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to permit certain counties to establish and maintain a court administrator system upon approval of the commissioners court. Under the provisions of the bill, judges of the district courts or the statutory county courts may designate local court divisions and the duties of the court administrator for each division. The bill specifies the court administrator is entitled to reasonable compensation, facilities, and equipment as determined by the judges and with approval of the commissioners court. Upon approval of the commissioners court, the judges would be required to appoint appropriate staff and support personnel to each jurisdiction.
