No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, regarding the disposition of firearms seized from a person with mental illness and would extend current procedures to cover persons released from emergency detention after a court determines that no probable cause exists to order continued mental health services. The Office of Court Administration indicates implementing bill provisions are not anticipated to have a significant fiscal implication in the court system.
