IN RE:
SB2055 by Watson (Relating to the designation of Loop 223 in Bastrop County as the Captain Jesse Billingsley Memorial Loop.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to design, construct, and erect markers designating a portion of State Highway Loop 223 as the Captain Jesse Billingsley Memorial Loop.
Section 225.021 (c), Transportation Code, specifies that TxDOT is not required to design, construct, or erect the marker unless a grant or donation of funds is made to the department to cover the cost. Based on the information provided by TxDOT, it is assumed any duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
