Pursuant to a notice posted on October 4, 2016, the House Committee on Agriculture & Livestock met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative King, Tracy O., at 9:07 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives King, Tracy O.; Anderson, Charles "Doc"; Cyrier; González, Mary; Rinaldi; and Simpson.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

The Committees on Agriculture and Livestock and Natural Resources met to consider a joint interim charge: Determine the sources of water used by Texas in the production of food and fiber, and examine current water delivery methods and water conservation goals for agricultural use. Evaluate whether there are more efficient and effective water-usage management practices that could be employed in the agricultural industry, and determine industry, and determine the impact of crop insurance requirements on producers.

At 11:21 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
