Pursuant to a notice posted on March 21, 2016, the House Committee on International Trade & Intergovernmental Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Anchia, at 1:46 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Anchia; Lozano; Anderson, Rodney; Burrows; Koop; and Turner, Scott.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

The committee met jointly with Agriculture & Livestock.

 

The chair began the posted agenda of evaluating ways in which Texas can continue to help promote our domestic agriculture products, both across the nation and internationally, and to strengthen our state's international ties for the purpose of exporting Texas food and fiber. (Joint charge with the House Committee on Agriculture & Livestock)

The chair began the posted agenda of invited testimony only specifically exploring the impact that an open U.S.-Cuba trading relationship would have on Texas.
