Pursuant to a notice posted on April 12, 2016, the House Committee on International Trade & Intergovernmental Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Anchia, at 9:19 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Anchia; Anderson, Rodney; Burrows; and Koop.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

Joint hearing with the Business & Industry Committee.

 

The chair began the posted agenda of analyzing recent data attributing the decline in domestic manufacturing to a consistent trade deficit caused by steady increases in net imports. Study how expanding trade and investing in manufacturing communities’ partnerships can grow the state's skilled workforce and production as well as increase net exports and develop a trade balance. (Joint charge with the House Committee on Business & Industry)

At 12:54 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
