Pursuant to a notice posted on September 10, 2015, the House Committee on General Investigating & Ethics met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Kuempel, at 1:02 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Kuempel; Collier; Davis, Sarah; Hunter; Moody; and Turner, Chris.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

 

Representative Collier moved that the Committee recess in executive session.

 

The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Kuempel; Collier; Davis, Sarah; Hunter; Moody; Turner, Chris (6).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representative Larson (1).

 

At 1:04 p.m., on the motion of Representative Kuempel and without objection, the meeting was recessed.

 

The committee reconvened at 2:35 p.m. and was called to order by the chair, Representative Kuempel.

 

The quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Kuempel; Collier; Davis, Sarah; Hunter; Larson; Moody; and Turner, Chris.

 

A quorum was present.

 

Representative Hunter made the following motion:

 

The role of the General Investigating and Ethics Committee is to safeguard and promote the integrity of the body and its membership.  To that end, I move that the General Investigating and Ethics Committee request the Committee on House Administration to provide training sessions for House members/and or staff on the following topics:

i.                    The Rules of the House,

ii.                  House operations, and

iii.                The roles of House members and staff.

 

Representative Davis seconded the motion.

 

The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Kuempel; Collier; Davis, Sarah; Hunter; Larson; Moody; Turner, Chris (7).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).
