Pursuant to a notice posted on October 3, 2016, the House Committee on General Investigating & Ethics met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Kuempel, at 10:07 a.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Kuempel; Larson; Moody; and Turner, Chris.
A quorum was present.
The committee met to address the following interim charge:
Examine the ethics laws governing public officers and employees in this state and identify areas in which the laws are inadequate to maintain the public’s trust and confidence in government. Assess whether required financial disclosures by those making governmental decisions adequately inform the public of potential conflicts of interest.

At 1:42 p.m., on the motion of Representative Kuempel and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
