Pursuant to a notice posted on June 8, 2016, the House Committee on Human Services met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Raymond, at 9:10 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Raymond; Rose; Keough; King, Susan; Klick; Peña; and Price.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

The House Committee on Human Services met to hear invited and public testimony on the following charge:

Examine the Department of Family and Protective Services’ policies and procedures, including prevention measures and resources, dedicated to eliminating child abuse and fatalities within the foster care system; explore ideas and strategies to increase the number of foster families and improve the delivery of services to children with high needs; review adoption policies, including disruptions, and make recommendations for possible improvements. Also, monitor and assess the continuation of foster care redesign.

At 8:47 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
