Pursuant to a notice posted on March 5, 2015, and permission granted on March 10, 2015, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Public Health met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Crownover, at 8:04 a.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Crownover; Naishtat; Blanco; Collier; Guerra; Miller, Rick; Zedler; and Zerwas.

A quorum was present.

HB 819

The chair laid out HB 819 as pending business.

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

Representative Collier moved that HB 819, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Nays:                           None (0).

Present, Not Voting:     None (0).

Absent:                         Representatives Davis, Sarah; Sheffield (2).

The vote was misreported as ten (10) ayes and zero (0) nays.

The vote was retaken and the motion by Representative Collier that HB 819, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed prevailed by the following record vote:

Nays:                           None (0).

The chair recognized Representative Alvarado to explain HB 170.

Representative Naishtat offered a complete committee substitute.
