Pursuant to a notice posted on May 3, 2016, the House Committee on Public Health met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Crownover, at 1:07 p.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Crownover; Naishtat; Davis, Sarah; Miller, Rick; and Zerwas.

The committee met to consider interim charge #4 (Birth Outcomes):

Review programs focused on improving birth outcomes including evaluating the effectiveness and identifying any cost avoidance associated with them. Study barriers pregnant women face enrolling in services and receiving regular prenatal care. Identify factors, including substance abuse, associated with preterm birth and review services available for mothers postpartum.

At 4:28 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
