Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Education was held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in the Betty King Committee Room at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:02 AM, the following business was transacted:
The chair laid out SB 168 and recognized the author, Senator Uresti, to explain the bill.
Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.
The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Taylor moved that SB 168 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.
The chair laid out SB 925, SB 934, SB 935, and SB 972 and recognized the author, Senator Kolkhorst, to explain the bills.
Senator Kolkhorst sent up a committee substitute to SB 935; the chair recognized Senator Kolkhorst to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the senate bill as filed.
Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.
The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.
The committee substitute to SB 935 was withdrawn.
Senator Larry Taylor moved that SB 925, SB 934, SB 935, and SB 972 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Garcia assumed the chair.
The chair laid out SB 945 and recognized the author, Senator Taylor, Larry, to explain the bill.
Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.
Roll was called at 10:20 AM, a quorum was present.
The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Garcia moved that SB 945 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Larry Taylor resumed the chair.
There being no further business, at 10:33 AM, Senator Larry Taylor moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
