The chair called the meeting to order at 11:05 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
Senator Nelson made opening remarks. Members of the Committee discussed the procedure and schedule for tax relief bills.
The Legislative Budget Board and the Office of the Comptroller gave presentations on property tax.
The chair laid out SB 744 and recognized the author, Senator Zaffirini, to explain the bill.
Senator Nelson moved that SB 744 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.
The chair laid out SB 1 and SJR 1 and recognized the author, Senator Nelson, to explain the bills.
Witnesses testifying and registering on the bills are shown on the attached list.
Senator Hinojosa moved that SB 1 and SJR 1 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Nelson resumed the chair.
The chair laid out SB 278 and SJR 21 and recognized the author, Senator Watson, to explain the bills.

The chair laid out SB 279 and SJR 20 and recognized the author, Senator Watson, to explain the bills.

The chair laid out SB 516 and SJR 29 and recognized the author, Senator Bettencourt, to explain the bills.

The chair laid out SB 758 and SJR 35 and recognized the author, Senator Bettencourt, to explain the bills.

There being no further business, at 1:03 PM Senator Nelson moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
