The chair called the meeting to order at 9:02 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
Senator Nelson made opening remarks.
The Office of the Comptroller and the Legislative Budget Board gave presentations on franchise tax and sales tax.
Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.
The chair laid out SB 7 and recognized the author, Senator Nelson, to explain the bill.
Senator Hinojosa moved that SB 7 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Nelson resumed the chair.
The chair laid out SB 687 and recognized the author, Senator Hinojosa, to explain the bill.
Senator Nelson moved that SB 687 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.
The chair laid out SB 8 and recognized the author, Senator Schwertner, to explain the bill.

At 10:34 AM Senator Nelson moved that the Committee stand recessed until 30 minutes after adjournment of the Senate. Without objection, it was so ordered.
At 12:41 the Committee reconvened.
