The chair called the meeting to order at 1:03 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
Senator Nelson made opening remarks.
The Committee heard invited testimony on Child Protective Services.
Witnesses registering and testifying are shown on the attached list.
Senator Whitmire assumed the chair.
Senator Nelson resumed the chair.
Testimony continued.
Senator Nelson announced a workgroup to further review the Department of Family and Protective Services’ plan to ensure timely visits with children and to review the agency’s base request and exceptional items for fiscal years 2018-19. The members are:

Senator Whitmire
The Legislative Budget Board gave an update on fiscal years 2016-2017 supplemental costs.

Senator Bettencourt gave a summary of the findings of the Senate Select Committee on Property Tax Reform and Relief.
There being no further business, at 6:22 PM Senator Nelson moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
