The chair called the meeting to order at 2:56 PM at Senator Whitmire’s desk. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business CSSB 830. Senator Kolkhorst moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Kolkhorst moved that SB 830 do not pass but that CSSB 830 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business CSSB 339. Senator Kolkhorst moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered.

Senator Kolkhorst moved that SB 339 do not pass but that CSSB 339 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 1 nay, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 1813.

 

Senator Campbell moved that SB 1813 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 2 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business CSSB 1873. Senator Campbell moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Campbell moved that SB 1873 do not pass but that CSSB 1873 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 3 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.  

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 1882. 

 

Senator Zaffirini moved to withdraw committee substitute to SB 1882 which was considered at a previous hearing; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Zaffirini sent up a new committee substitute; the chair recognized Senator Zaffirini to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the senate bill as filed. Senator Zaffirini moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Zaffirini moved that SB 1882 do not pass but that CSSB 1882 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. 

 

Senator Schwertner moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Uresti moved to reconsider the vote by which SB 1813 was reported favorably to the Senate; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Campbell moved that SB 1813 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 3 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business CSSB 1899. Senator Campbell moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Campbell moved that SB 1899 do not pass but that CSSB 1899 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.

 

Senator Schwertner moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.
