Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Thursday, April 21, 2016, in the Senate Chamber.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:05 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

The Chair announced that the purpose of the hearing was to discuss Interim Charge # 8, related to the Refugee Resettlement Program, and to receive an update from the Inspector General of the Health and Human Services Commission.

The Chair called invited witnesses to speak on issues related to the Office of the Inspector General.  Witnesses are shown on the attached list.

The Chair opened invited testimony on Interim Charge # 8, related to the Refugee Resettlement Program.  Witnesses are shown on the attached list.

At 11:12 AM Senator Kolkhorst assumed the chair.

At 11:14 AM Senator Schwertner resumed the chair.

The Chair opened public testimony on Interim Charge #8, related to the Refugee Resettlement Program.  Witnesses are shown on the attached list.

At 11:55 AM Senator Kolkhorst assumed the chair.

At 12:03 PM Senator Schwertner resumed the chair.

The chair moved that testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

There being no further business, at 12:53 PM Senator Schwertner moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
