Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Transportation was held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

The Committee heard invited and public testimony on the following Interim Charges:

· Evaluate the necessity of the Driver Responsibility Program and make recommendations for alternative methods of achieving the programs objectives.

· Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the state's Vehicle Inspection Program. Make recommendations on how to compress or otherwise reduce the number of required inspections.

All witnesses are shown on the attached list.

There being no further business, at 12:25 PM Senator Nichols moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
