Pursuant to SCR 9 and HCR 56, a public hearing of the Joint Committee on Border Security was held on Thursday, May 5, 2016, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.028, at Austin, Texas.

Co-chair Representative Dennis Bonnen called the meeting to order at 10:35 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The co-chairs shared presiding duties. 

 

The following members arrived after the roll was called:

Representative Larry Phillips

 

Other members present: Senator Jose Rodriguez, Senator Sylvia Garcia

 

Invited testimony was provided by those designated on the attached list.

 

 At 12:50 PM Representative Phillips assumed the chair.

 

At 12:55 PM Senator Birdwell resumed the chair.

 

There being no further business, at 2:27 PM Representative Bonnen moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
