Amend CSSB 6 (house committee printing) as follows:
(1) On page 1, line 6, between the period and "In", insert "(a)".
(2) On page 1, between lines 22 and 23, insert the following:
(b) Notwithstanding Section 311.005, Government Code, for the purposes of Subsection (a), "population" does not include the number of residents of a military base as that number is determined by the state demographer following each federal decennial census. The state demographer shall determine the number of individuals in each county that are residents of a military base following each federal decennial census.
