R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The untimely death of W. Tucker Keene of Dallas on
  June 9, 2017, at the age of 25, has brought a great loss to his
  family and to his many friends and colleagues; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Massachusetts on May 16, 1992, to Will and
  Cindy Keene, Tucker Keene grew up with the companionship of a
  brother, Spencer; he went on to attend Southern Methodist
  University in Dallas, where he served as president of the SMU
  College Republicans and managing editor of the Daily Campus
  newspaper; after graduating with a degree in political science, he
  joined the Dallas Young Republicans, and he subsequently took a job
  as a field intern working for Governor Greg Abbott's 2014 campaign;
  he soon earned promotion to field staff and proved himself a
  valuable asset to the campaign and to the Dallas GOP Victory Center;
  and
         WHEREAS, After the election, Mr. Keene relocated to Austin to
  work for Delisi Communications, a consulting firm; in early 2016,
  he took on a new challenge when he was hired as communications
  director for the Republican Party of New Mexico; he continued to
  make a name for himself in this role, impressing those around him
  with his energy and enthusiasm and his unwavering commitment to the
  party's mission; and
         WHEREAS, An articulate and accomplished young man, Mr. Keene
  was also known for being quick with a joke, and he counted good
  food, good company, and craft beer among his greatest pleasures; in
  addition to his friends and family, he enjoyed the companionship of
  his beloved puppy, Sadie, whom he had recently welcomed into his
  home; and
         WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Tucker Keene
  will never forget his indomitable zest for life and his unwavering
  drive to make a difference, and he will forever hold a special place
  in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of W. Tucker Keene and extend deepest condolences to all those who
  mourn his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Tucker
  Keene.
