R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Marco Arevalo of Falfurrias High School achieved |
|
|
great distinction by claiming the gold medal in the 3A boys' shot |
|
|
put event at the 2017 University Interscholastic League Track & |
|
|
Field State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at |
|
|
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12, Mr. Arevalo turned in a |
|
|
notable performance and a personal-best mark, recording a winning |
|
|
distance of 58 feet, 11.75 inches; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Marco Arevalo's triumph in the state's premier |
|
|
showcase for high school track and field athletes represents the |
|
|
culmination of countless hours of hard work, and he will cherish his |
|
|
memory of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Marco Arevalo |
|
|
on his first-place finish in the 3A boys' shot put at the 2017 UIL |
|
|
Track & Field State Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Arevalo as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
