R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, No words can ease the pain caused by a life cut |
|
short, but all those who shared in the love and friendship of Rudy |
|
Segura Jr. of Waxahachie may find comfort in their treasured |
|
memories of this special young man, who passed away on July 1, 2017, |
|
at the age of 16; and |
|
WHEREAS, Known affectionately as "Mijo" or "Little Rudy," |
|
Mr. Segura was born in Duncanville on April 3, 2001, to Rudy Alan |
|
Segura and Gina Lenor Martinez Segura, and he was the protective |
|
brother of two sisters, Kayla and Aleigha; and |
|
WHEREAS, This athletically gifted young Texan was a student |
|
at Palmer High School, where he was a member of the football team |
|
and also excelled at weight lifting; in his free time, he enjoyed |
|
cooking and took great delight in his 1996 GMC short-bed truck; |
|
above all else, he deeply cherished his family; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although his days were far too few, Rudy Segura made |
|
a positive and lasting difference in the lives he touched, and he |
|
will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those fortunate |
|
enough to have known him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|
of Rudy Segura Jr. and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his |
|
family: to his father, Rudy Segura Sr., and his wife, Tena; to his |
|
mother, Gina Segura, and her husband, James Russell; to his |
|
grandparents, Minerva and Richard Segura; to his sisters, Kayla |
|
Rios and her husband, Pete, and Aleigha Russell; to his aunts and |
|
uncles, Jerry and Donna Segura, Richard Lee and Misty Segura, |
|
Maryanne Martinez, and Janie and Thomas Watkins; and to his other |
|
relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rudy Segura |

Jr. |
