R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt by |
|
the family and friends of U.S. Navy Gunner's Mate 2nd Class Noe |
|
Hernandez of Weslaco, who died in the service of his nation on June |
|
17, 2017, at the age of 26; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Virginia Yolanda Hernandez Lozano, Noe |
|
Hernandez was born on December 17, 1990; while a student at Weslaco |
|
High School, he distinguished himself as a cadet in the school's |
|
Army JROTC battalion; and |
|
WHEREAS, A first-generation American, Noe Hernandez was |
|
guided by a deep love of country in all that he did; he enlisted in |
|
the U.S. Navy after his 2009 graduation and was stationed at the |
|
time of his passing in Japan, where he lived with his wife, Dora, |
|
and their son, Leon; remembered by his family and friends as a |
|
humble, kind, and cheerful man, he was also known for his steadfast |
|
devotion to his faith, which provided him with great strength and |
|
comfort; and |
|
WHEREAS, Serving his country with courage, honor, and |
|
selfless dedication, Noe Hernandez embodied the very spirit of |
|
patriotism throughout his life, and all those who had the good |
|
fortune to know him will forever carry him close in their hearts; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|
of U.S. Navy Gunner's Mate 2nd Class Noe Hernandez and extend |
|
sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his wife, Dora |
|
L. Hernandez; to his son, Leon E. Hernandez; to his mother, Virginia |
|
Yolanda Hernandez Lozano; to his siblings, Jorge Hernandez and |
|
Mireya H. Alvarez; to his aunt, Rosa Guzman; and to his other |
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Noe |
|
Hernandez. |
