R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Honorable Ida Hernandez Brazell is retiring as |
|
an associate judge for the Fifth Administrative Judicial Region on |
|
August 17, 2017, concluding more than two decades of service to the |
|
people of South Texas; and |
|
WHEREAS, Judge Brazell completed her bachelor's degree at The |
|
University of Texas in 1973; four years later, she graduated from |
|
the UT School of Law; and |
|
WHEREAS, Licensed in 1978, Judge Brazell has been admitted to |
|
practice in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Texas, and |
|
the U.S. District & Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Texas; |
|
she has served for 23 years with the Fifth Region, which covers |
|
Brooks, Cameron, Duval, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Jim Wells, Kenedy, |
|
Kleberg, Nueces, Starr, and Willacy Counties; as associate judge |
|
for Title IV-D Court No. 24 in Corpus Christi, she has carefully |
|
decided a host of child support cases; and |
|
WHEREAS, Judge Brazell has greatly benefited her fellow |
|
citizens through her dedicated service to the Fifth Administrative |
|
Judicial Region, and as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of |
|
her life, she may indeed reflect with pride on her many |
|
contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate the Honorable |
|
Ida Hernandez Brazell on her retirement from the Fifth |
|
Administrative Judicial Region and extend to her sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Judge Brazell as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
