R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Honorable Ida Hernandez Brazell is retiring as
  an associate judge for the Fifth Administrative Judicial Region on
  August 17, 2017, concluding more than two decades of service to the
  people of South Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Judge Brazell completed her bachelor's degree at The
  University of Texas in 1973; four years later, she graduated from
  the UT School of Law; and
         WHEREAS, Licensed in 1978, Judge Brazell has been admitted to
  practice in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Texas, and
  the U.S. District & Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Texas;
  she has served for 23 years with the Fifth Region, which covers
  Brooks, Cameron, Duval, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Jim Wells, Kenedy,
  Kleberg, Nueces, Starr, and Willacy Counties; as associate judge
  for Title IV-D Court No. 24 in Corpus Christi, she has carefully
  decided a host of child support cases; and
         WHEREAS, Judge Brazell has greatly benefited her fellow
  citizens through her dedicated service to the Fifth Administrative
  Judicial Region, and as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of
  her life, she may indeed reflect with pride on her many
  contributions; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate the Honorable
  Ida Hernandez Brazell on her retirement from the Fifth
  Administrative Judicial Region and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Judge Brazell as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
