R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
  passing of Annette Durand Castillo of San Antonio on July 8, 2017,
  at the age of 47; and
         WHEREAS, The beloved daughter of Paul P. Castillo Jr. and the
  late Eudelia Castillo, Annette Castillo was born on November 1,
  1969, and grew up with the companionship of her six older siblings,
  Hermelinda, Lillian, Arlene, Debra, Charles, and Arthur; and
         WHEREAS, After graduating from high school, Ms. Castillo
  briefly attended business school before beginning a rewarding
  career with the Bexar County Clerk's Office that spanned 22 years;
  her professionalism and friendly disposition quickly won her the
  respect and admiration of her colleagues there, and she rose
  through the ranks to become a county court clerk; later in life, she
  also worked at United Healthcare; and
         WHEREAS, A talented baker, Ms. Castillo was widely known for
  her decadent desserts, and she delighted in treating friends and
  coworkers to cakes, pies, and cookies; she also found great
  fulfillment in caring for her two cherished cats, Sassy and Chloe;
  and
         WHEREAS, Annette Castillo touched countless lives with her
  joyful spirit and her ever-present smile, and all those who were
  fortunate enough to know her will forever hold her close in their
  hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Annette Castillo and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of
  her family: to her father, Paul P. Castillo Jr., and her stepmother,
  Maria Elena Castillo; to her sisters, Hermelinda Almanza, Lillian
  Cronk, Arlene Ortiz, and Debra DeVilbiss; to her brothers, Charles
  and Arthur Castillo; and to her other relatives and many friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Annette
  Castillo.
