R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of William Hunter Brannon of
  Hallsville suffered an immeasurable loss with the tragic death of
  this beloved young Texan on August 5, 2017, at the age of 17; and
         WHEREAS, Born on December 18, 1999, in Longview, Will Brannon
  was the son of Stan and Michelle Brannon, and he enjoyed a close
  bond with his sister, Carolanne; a resident of Hallsville his
  entire life, he was entering his senior year at Hallsville High
  School, where he played the tuba in the Bobcat Band; taking on a
  leadership role in the band, he had an affinity for both mentoring
  and playing pranks on new members, and he had recently shared with
  his bandmates his excitement when his tuba section beat out the
  drumline in a marching competition for the first time in years;
  after graduating, he planned to attend West Texas A&M University to
  study history; and
         WHEREAS, A hardworking and well-liked young man, Mr. Brannon
  relished the outdoors, and he made many happy memories while
  camping, hiking, and visiting Caddo Lake; he was an enthusiastic
  and dedicated member of Boy Scout Troop No. 620 and had earned
  membership in the prestigious Order of the Arrow; in 2016, he
  received his Eagle Scout badge after constructing a dodgeball arena
  for a local school for children with special needs; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Brannon deeply treasured the time he spent with
  his family; he shared with them a love of history, Cardinals
  baseball, and the Texas Aggies, and he delighted in going with them
  to visit national parks and to see airshows featuring World War
  II-era planes; and
         WHEREAS, Although the loss of one so young and full of promise
  is difficult to bear, Will Brannon leaves behind countless people
  who admired and cherished him, and they will forever keep his memory
  alive in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
  William Hunter Brannon and extend sincere condolences to the
  members of his family: to his parents, Stan and Michelle Brannon; to
  his sister, Carolanne Brannon; to his grandparents, Marty and Linda
  Salisbury, Don and Sharon Honolka, and Cathey Brannon; to his
  great-grandmothers, Shirley Salisbury and Anna Merle Lang; and to
  his many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Will
  Brannon.
