R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Kimmie Nemecek is concluding her service as an |
|
assistant to the sergeant-at-arms of the Texas House of |
|
Representatives on August 16, 2017; and |
|
WHEREAS, During her exemplary tenure, Ms. Nemecek has |
|
assisted in maintaining order in the hall of the house, its lobbies, |
|
and the gallery, as well as other rooms in the Capitol designated |
|
for house use; her responsibilities included helping to clear the |
|
floor of all persons not entitled to the privileges of the floor at |
|
least 30 minutes prior to the convening of each session of the |
|
house; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Nemecek also demonstrated skill and dedication |
|
in carrying out other duties, among them assisting in enforcing |
|
parking regulations, scheduling the pastor of the day, and |
|
supervising the messenger staff; her collegiality and efficiency |
|
earned the admiration and affection of coworkers and house members |
|
alike; and |
|
WHEREAS, Initially hired as a house messenger in January |
|
2009, when she was just 18 years old, Ms. Nemecek quickly |
|
distinguished herself through her diligence and professionalism, |
|
and she was promoted to messenger supervisor in January 2011; after |
|
briefly working for a state representative, she returned to the |
|
office of the sergeant-at-arms in February 2014, and she was |
|
selected for her current role before the 84th Legislative Session; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Kimmie Nemecek has rendered outstanding service to |
|
her fellow Texans for more than eight years, and as she embarks on |
|
the next exciting chapter of her life, it is indeed a pleasure to |
|
honor her for her contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Kimmie Nemecek for |
|
her service as an assistant to the house sergeant-at-arms and |
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and |
|
happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Nemecek as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
