R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their
  memories of Kenneth Ponder of Hallsville, who died on June 17, 2017,
  at the age of 51; and
         WHEREAS, Kenny Ponder was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on
  October 31, 1965, to Gene and Patsy Ponder; raised in Texas, he
  graduated from Marshall High School in 1984, and he went on to earn
  an associate degree in manufacturing technology from North Carolina
  State University; and
         WHEREAS, Joined in matrimony to Kim Wright Ponder, Mr. Ponder
  was the proud father of three sons, Blake, Gene, and Pierce; later
  in life, he was blessed with a granddaughter, Presleigh; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Ponder worked his way up through the kitchen
  cabinetry business, and in 2008 he joined his father's new company,
  Master WoodCraft Cabinetry, where he rose to executive vice
  president of manufacturing; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Mr. Ponder delighted in the
  time he spent outdoors, ranching and hunting; he was a lifetime
  member of Ducks Unlimited and an active supporter of the Wounded
  Warriors project; moreover, he was a valued congregant of First
  United Methodist Church of Marshall; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted family man, a hardworking professional,
  and a keen outdoorsman, Kenny Ponder enjoyed a life that was rich in
  the intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all
  those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Kenneth Ponder and extend heartfelt sympathy to his family and
  many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kenneth
  Ponder.
