SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 4
         WHEREAS, Dr. Gerald Stagg of Mount Pleasant was
  presented with a Lifetime Achievement in Healthcare Award at
  the Titus Regional Medical Foundation's annual Grand Gala on
  April 28, 2017; and
         WHEREAS, Gerald Stagg grew up in Louisiana, where he
  graduated as valedictorian of his class at Acadia Baptist Academy
  and earned his medical degree at the Louisiana State University
  School of Medicine; he originally planned to become a surgeon but
  was drawn to pediatrics after filling in for a pediatrician while
  on a medical mission trip in Nigeria; after moving to Mount
  Pleasant in 1981, Dr. Stagg founded the Pediatric Clinic, which
  serves patients in Mount Pleasant and the surrounding
  five-county area, and he is a founding partner of Northeast Texas
  Pediatrics; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Stagg has also held multiple leadership roles
  at Titus Regional Medical Center, including chief of staff for
  physician governance, and he is a fellow of the American Academy
  of Pediatrics; he continues to participate in medical mission
  trips to Guatemala, and he owns a tree farm where he often hosts
  events for underprivileged children; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Dr. Stagg enjoys the love
  and support of his wife, Criss, whom he met at the LSU Medical
  Center, where she was charge nurse on the pediatric floor and he
  was chief pediatric resident; the couple take pride in their
  children, Hayden, Joshua, and Sarah Grace, all of whom are
  following in their parents' footsteps to pursue careers in
  medicine; and
         WHEREAS, Admired by his colleagues and patients alike,
  Dr. Gerald Stagg has had a positive impact on countless lives
  through his dedication to excellence in pediatric care, and it is
  indeed a pleasure to join in recognizing his myriad achievements;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Dr. Gerald
  Stagg on his receipt of a Lifetime Achievement in Healthcare
  Award from the Titus Regional Medical Foundation and extend to
  him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Dr. Stagg as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
