SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 8
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Jimmie McCormack
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their
  memories of Jimmie McCormack of Henderson, who passed away on
  May 22, 2017, at the age of 89; and
         WHEREAS, Born to Randy and Irene McCormack in Long Branch
  on December 16, 1927, Jimmie McCormack grew up with the
  companionship of two siblings, Willie Mae and George; he went on
  to enjoy a successful career with Henderson Clay Products that
  spanned four decades; he was also a rancher and could often be
  found tending to his farmland and cattle; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. McCormack was actively involved with the local
  chamber of commerce, and he received the Ambassador of the Year
  Award; furthermore, he held membership with the Pine Hill Lodge
  No. 95 AF&AM and Clinton Lodge No. 23 AF&AM, and he was a 32nd
  degree Mason with the Scottish Rite Valley of Waco; sustained by a
  deep faith, he was a valued congregant of First Baptist Church for
  nearly seven decades; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. McCormack and his wife, Melba, shared a
  rewarding marriage that spanned 68 years, and together they
  raised two children, Randy and Nancy; with the passing years,
  their family grew to include their granddaughter, Megan,
  step-granddaughter, Ashley, great-grandchildren, Sloane and
  Brooks, and step-great-grandchildren, Ashton and Beckham; and
         WHEREAS, Jimmie McCormack lived a life that was rich in the
  intangibles that matter most, and his loss is keenly felt by all
  who were fortunate enough to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Jimmie McCormack and extend heartfelt sympathy to his
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do
  so in memory of Jimmie McCormack.
