HB342 by Reynolds (Relating to cybersecurity for voting systems.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code relating to cybersecurity for voting systems.

This analysis assumes any additional work associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed by the Secretary of State using existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house or on December 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Association of Counties (TAC), the fiscal impact to counties is not anticipated to be significant.
