No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code requiring a regional mobility authority to construct at least one adjacent nontolled lane of frontage road for each direction of travel of a turnpike project.
The bill would take effect December 1, 2017.
Local Government Impact
According to North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority, adding frontage roads to all existing segments of Toll 49 is estimated to be $698.7 million.
