No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code relating to the limiting of applicability of municipal and county regulations affecting real property.

The bill would take effect December 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Municipal League (TML), there could be a significant but indeterminate implication to local government due to increased costs of regulations including zoning, land use, and construction and implications on property values and economic activities associated with preempted regulations.
