No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend various sections of the Education, Government, and Local Government Code relating to payroll deductions for state and local government organizations.
According to the Texas Education Agency, any cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill can be absorbed within existing resources.
The bill would take effect December 1, 2017.
Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Municipal League, the fiscal impact of the bill cannot be determined but it is not expected to result in a significant fiscal impact to local government.
