Amend CSHB 12 (house committee report) as follows:

(1)  On page 20, line 17, between "sheriff" and "for", insert "or sheriff's deputy".

(2)  On page 24, line 12, between "sheriff" and "for", insert "or sheriff's deputy".

(3)  On page 26, line 27, strike "Article 46B.082(b)" and substitute "Article 46B.082".

(4)  On page 27, between lines 1 and 2, insert the following:

Art. 46B.082.  TRANSPORTATION OF DEFENDANT. (a) On notification from the court under Article 46B.078, the sheriff of the county in which the court is located or the sheriff's deputy [designee] shall transport the defendant to the court.

(5)  On page 28, line 3, between "located" and the underlined period, insert "or the sheriff's deputy".

(6)  On page 28, line 3, between "sheriff" and "shall", insert "or sheriff's deputy".

(7)  On page 28, line 15, between "sheriff" and "having", insert "or sheriff's deputy".
