Amend HB 13 (house committee printing) as follows:
(1) On page 5, line 11, strike "From money appropriated to the commission" and substitute "Except as provided by Subsection (l), from money appropriated to the commission for each fiscal year".
(2) On page 5, between lines 18 and 19, insert the following:
(l) To the extent money appropriated to the commission to implement this section for a fiscal year remains available to the commission after the commission selects grant recipients for the fiscal year, the commission shall make grants available using the money remaining for the fiscal year through a competitive request for proposal process, without regard to the limitation provided by Subsection (k).
(3) Reletter subsequent subsections of added Section 531.0999, Government Code, accordingly.
