Amend CSHB 16 (committee printing) as follows:
On page 9, between lines 17 and 18, insert the following appropriately numbered section:
Sec.____. REFERRAL TO APPROPRIATE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. A postsecondary educational institution which finds reason to believe that a student engaged in conduct which constitutes a criminal offense shall refer the matter to the local law enforcement agency with jurisdiction over the location where said conduct occurred, or to the district attorney with jurisdiction over the county in which said conduct occurred, within three days of having determined in a disciplinary process under Section 21.526 that the student engaged in such conduct.
