Amend CSHB 1774 (house committee printing) as follows:
(1) On page 3, line 19, strike "Subsection (b)" and substitute "this section".
(2) On page 4, between lines 9 and 10, insert the following appropriately designated subsection:
( ) This chapter does not apply to an action filed by a claimant who is a member of the armed forces of the United States on active duty overseas if the claim arises from damage to or loss of property that is the claimant's residence homestead as defined by Section 11.13, Tax Code.
